Exercises you can do at work

What exercises can be done in the office, at the plant, at your desk? How can you build exercise into the work day?

For those who work in Cira, there are 50 steps between the 24th and 26th floors. So, if you want up and down these steps 20 times, you will have walked a mile! It's all in a day's work!

I keep a water bottle at my desk, and every time I need to get it filled, I will walk to the end fo the building, up the stairs, to the other end, and down the stairs before going back to my desk. It sure beats parking at the far end of the parking lot when it's below-zero outside!

How much time are you allowed for a break? Why not walk around the parking lot or up the stair way. Have some of your co-workers join you for encouragement. In twenty minutes you should be able to walk up to a mile. This will make you feel better, give you more energy and allow you to be more productive. You will also lose weight.

This exercise may be hard initially, but after a few times, it will get easier.

Sitting at your desk chair with armrests? Put your hands on the armrests and try to push up without using your legs until your arms are straight.
