Protein shakes are great!! Protein bars and other low calorie snack bars are also good to eat between meals.
Fruit is always a good snack!
Light popcorn is really helping me - a whole bag is only 100 calories (I get the Trails End Butter Light popcorn from the BoyScouts).
I like to snack on peanuts in between meals. I buy a small packet of them for portion control. They are healthy and packed with tons of protein that fills me up.
To prevent mindless eating, portion all snacks into a baggie, cup, bowl or plate. Eating snacks from their original bag, box or container can easily lead to overeating. For increased satisfaction, avoid eating while watching TV or reading a book, when your mind is occupied with other things.
This tip works for me - I'll eat a whole bag of chips if they are in front of me!
